This Privacy Policy explains what information Adoona collects, how it is used, and your choices. Effective date: this version ships with the current app release.
Information we collect
Account information you provide (email, username, display name, bio, optional avatar). Content you create (videos, captions, comments, likes, saves, follows). Approximate or precise location, only when you enable prayer times, the Qibla compass, or the nearby finder. Basic usage and device information needed to run the app.
How we use information
To provide and improve the app: authenticate you, show and rank your feed, deliver prayer times and Islamic features for your location, enable social features, and keep the community safe (moderation of reported content).
Service providers
We rely on trusted providers to run Adoona, including providers for authentication, database, and hosting; video and media storage; transactional email (such as confirmations and password resets); subscription management for Adoona Plus; advertising (shown to free users only); and prayer-time, Quran/hadith/dua, and maps content for the mosque and halal-food finder. Location coordinates are shared with mapping providers only to return results you request.
Content moderation
To keep the community safe, videos you upload are checked by an automated moderation provider (Anthropic) to detect content that breaks our guidelines before it appears. Reported content and users are also reviewed and actioned.
Subscriptions and advertising
Subscriptions (Adoona Plus) are processed by the App Store or Google Play; we never receive your payment-card details. Adoona may show ads to free users, which may use device and advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, control location permissions in your device settings, block or mute other users, and report content. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings, which removes your profile, videos, comments, likes, and follows.
Children
Adoona is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use the app if you are under that age.
